High Speed Copying
A&D utilizes multiple high-speed digital copying machines to fulfill your small format black and white copying needs. These are based on a revolutionary new next generation platform that combines key applications like copying, printing and scanning with one main controller for total system integration.
Our high-speed digital copiers scan each original once and then print as many sets as required, eliminating the need to continually recirculate the originals through the document handler. This greatly increases the quality of the finished product while protecting the originals and keeping them in pristine form. Full speed duplexing occurs on sheets up to 11 x 17 inches on both text weight and cover stock. Customers may send hard copy or transmit files via e-mail, deliver them on CD or DVD or upload to our FTP site.
Multifunction
Copier/Network Printer/Scan to File
A&D and each of our suppliers provide multifunction equipment options, to allow you in house services in one location with a single footprint. They gave the ability to print from all work stations, walk up copier, with reduction and enlarging and complete scan to file capabilities in both PDf and Tiff formats, color or black and white.
Large Format Printing
A&D utilizes copy press technology with the Oce TDS 700 and 860 large format engineering digital printers. Oce’s unique Image Logic Technology produces high quality copies even from poor quality originals. Image Logic combines Oce’s scanning and printing technology to enhance weak lines and clean up less than perfect originals. OCE’s copy press technology produces prints that look and feel like actual press printing. The Oce printers can reduce or enlarge from 25% to 400% in one step. Maximum size output is 36 inches wide by any reasonable length. Your project can consist of both hard copy, ready to print sheets or digital files or a combination of the two. We can mix the two medias together to form a seamless print ready job for any number of sets. We provide reductions for convenient storage, size enlargements for maximum presentation or scan to disk for archiving.
Electronic Plan Distribution
A&D desires to keep your office running smoothly by handling the distribution of your plans. Our Electronic Plan Distribution website will greatly assist in that objective. The Job Description page provides of the information such as: job description, pre-bid date and time, bid date and time, how to receive a set, where the set is to be returned, shipping information, addendums, and specification information.
The Bidders List page is kept current and is available 24\7. An order is placed, the bidders list is automatically updated plus the order is entered into the distribution system to provide for real time monitoring.
The Plan Images page also allows plans to be viewed online 24 \7. No special software or hardware is needed.
When an addendum is issued on a job, we post it to the website, send an addendum notification out to our customers via email, and a hard copy will be mailed to all bidders.
Plans go out for bid to insure the best possible price for the owners. A&D’s Electronic Plan Distribution website allows more bidders to view plans and qualify the bid without being issued a set. Our website allows more qualified bidders on a project than a conventional plan distribution.
Scanning
We offer a full range of scanning solutions for both color and black and white file creation. Our scanners can accommodate both high-speed production (8.5” x 11”) as well as full color 42 inch by any reasonable length originals. Originals can be made into a project ready CD/DVD for archival and/or owners and developers. Scanning services include:
Black and white scanning at 190 pages per minute scanning directly to .pdf or Group IV .tif from 8.5 x 11 to 11 x 17.
Black and white large format scans up to 36 inches wide to Group IV .tif or .pdf
OCR- Optical Copy Recognition. We can OCR your small format scans into an editable format in MS Word or Adobe Capture .pdf.
Color small format scanning (8.5 x 11 to 11 x 17) to virtually any file format you need.
Color large format scanning – 42 inches by any reasonable length for digital printing or archival.
Finishing Services
A&D has several services available to put those professional finishing touches on your projects.
Some of these include:
GBC Binding
This process allows A&D to bind your specification books and other multiple page documents into a professional looking document for a quality proposal.
Drilling
A&D drills documents to exacting specifications. Jobs can be printed and drilled in stages at different times, drill holes and sheet edges will line up exactly.
Folding
Folding can take many forms from custom to conventional folds. We will complete the folding requirements necessary for your specific job.
Trimming
We will hand trim or guillotine trim your job ensuring exacting specifications.
Mounting
Prints may be mounted up to 60 inches wide. We stock two thicknesses of gator board and foam core. Other mounting materials such as Plexiglas may also be provided.
Laminating
When prints need extra protection, lamination is the answer. We can laminate up to 60 inches wide with either cold or hot application. Lamination can be appliedsimplex or duplex in matte or gloss finish in 3 mil, 5mil or 10 mil thicknesses. Grommets or Velcro tabs are easily added to the mounts.
